Design with a Sense of Place & History

I believe a home should feel like a story told over time and, above all, be a reflection of its inhabitants. My own story is a study in contrasting traditions. Growing up bilingual in the Blue Ridge Mountains as the daughter of a Puerto Rican mother and an Appalachian father, my identity is a bridge between two cultures. Today, I apply that same intuition to design. I don’t see “modern” and “historic” as opposing styles, but as an opportunity for two different cultural and architectural languages to coexist in a single, harmonious home.

A Foundation in the Field

Before launching my own consultancy, I spent 13 years working in-house for custom builders, navigating the complexities of renovations from the inside out. Since 2013, I have specialized in the technical and aesthetic challenges of remodeling, bridging the gap between homeowners and builders.

Richmond: My Home and Inspiration

After eight years working in the fast-paced D.C. area, my husband and I relocated to Richmond in 2020. We were drawn to the city’s historic charm, vibrant art scene, and tight-knit community. Today, I am proud to serve on the Junior Board of Historic Richmond, where I advocate for the preservation of the architectural landmarks that make our city unique.

My Design Philosophy: The Modern Heritage

My specialty lies in the delicate balance of Modern Integration, helping clients maintain the character of their homes while introducing the modern comforts of today.

When I’m off the clock:

You’ll likely find my husband and me exploring Richmond’s diverse neighborhoods on our scooters, hunting for the best restaurants, local art, and architectural gems. If you see us zipping through The Fan or Church Hill, be sure to wave!
